Kira
Age: Adult Female
Kira is approximately 2 years old, She is Spayed and Microchipped and like any Husky she is an escape artist. She needs daily brushing (think I’m kidding 😅)
She doesn’t typically mind nail trims in a calm state. She loves kids (sometimes too much) so I don’t recommend small children or babies. But with the right training it will work. I did a lot of work on training Kira with cats as she does like the chase but she had gotten better. She is a great leash walker and will even walk great with a kid (my 7-8 girl walked/walks her supervised) she is great with other dogs but not sure with small dogs. Small animals like rabbits and birds are not a great mix with her though we did some work with that as well. Kira was always meant to be temporary with us as she was brought to me for training purposes and well the owner changed their mind so I offered to keep her and find her a home but but it’s been a year and I can’t keep her any longer strictly due to my daughters health. Kira loves trampolines and anything outdoorsy she is accustomed to Florida whether and originally from Orlando. She does like to dig but again something we’ve worked on and she has gotten much much better. Most the time she’s fishing out mole crickets 🤢
Of course her being husky she shouldn’t be left unattended outdoors. She is highly treat motivated and knows tricks and basics. She knows, Spin (this is recent ☺️) she knows Sit, Stand, Up, Down, Turn (on leash), Stay, Here and Crate. She is crate trained and loves her crate. She likes to play hide and seek (literally) in the house. She likes the jumping out and scaring you part more. Kira is very intelligent and would be great with someone active and motivated to stimulate her brain more. I recommend crating her while away because even though she knows everything she knows she still gets bored very easily but she can and has been known to lay in bed at night with a closed door and not mess with anything. We’ve never had issues with her getting into the trash however if you don’t listen to her bathroom cues she will have accidents her bathroom cue is simple she will hover around and grab your hand to let her out. (Not bite but mouth)
She absolutely loves the beach and I know she’s capable of off leash training (eventually and with the right time and effort). She does have a pretty good recall for a husky if I don’t say so myself. She’s spunky and full of all the attitude. She has a deep howl instead of the police siren howl or the high pitch howl hers is pretty darn deep. She is quiet at night in her crate but come feeding time in the mornings she’ll let you know it’s time. She thrives really well on a schedule but pretty adaptable as well. She loves just watching out the windows and well she’s also a window licker which she looks creepy/funny doing sometimes haha. Keep in mind when thinking about Kira that she is high energy but she’s also pretty laid back at times as well. Kira loves water baths not so much she is accustomed to getting a new kiddie pool every year. Puddles she’ll find them. Mud puddles she’ll find those too 🤣
But nothing beats her spunkiness she can clingy too she loves laying the bed with my daughter which sadly can’t happen anymore due to my daughters health. She also loves stuffies anything with fluff really haha. Cheese tax also don’t forget that. Also back to the potty thing if your super busy one day at home throw out a puppy pad for her and show it to her and she will use it instead of accidentally missing a cue and having to clean a carpet or rug. She is pretty good dog but she’s had a lot of training and some days she may not show but she makes up for it in every way. Hopefully one day you can take her to see snow for the first time too 😍❤️
