Elmo

Our green military macaw, Elmo, has a lot of spunk, and personality! He loves to say “Up” and will expect you to pick him up where he can perch on your shoulder and go for a ride. Being at the Refuge he has picked up many different words and phrases throughout the years. He can impersonate a dog bark, squawk like a chicken and hiss like a cat. Elmo always knows how to pick his favorite people and when he does he will attach himself to you, and never want to let you go. He loves attention and if you stop to say hello and give him your undivided attention his face will change to bright red. He is lucky that his cage is within reach threw our office window and gets fed his favorite snacks fruits and nuts multiple times a day. He is a regular Casanova!
