Each day is different at Alaqua but one thing remains constant – the perpetual pleas to help animals in need. We are continually inundated with phone calls, emails, and social media messages to take in animals of all kinds. And each one of them tugs at our heart strings.
As much as we would love to help them all, we simply do not have the space at our current location as we operate at maximum capacity all the time.
When Alaqua’s founder saw this heart wrenching photo of this poor dog and her nine pups, she stepped up to help make space in order to save their lives. This photograph captures this animal’s feelings of fear, confusion, and worry while she was in another shelter.
Within a few hours of being rescued and cared for in a fear-free environment, this sweet mama knew she was safe. The photo at the bottom shows just how much happier she is now. It is stories like these that make what we do meaningful and worthy.
